My experience started before I even walked into the salon. The first time I called, a woman answered the phone and quoted me around $140 for the color service I described. About five days later, I called back to book my appointment, and the manager answered. This time I was quoted $160. I asked, “Did you guys raise the price?” because I had been quoted a different amount only a few days earlier. Instead of simply answering my question, he responded with a little attitude and said something in between the lines of “Honey, you just asked me how much was for the color and I’m telling you it’s $160” I felt like I was being spoken to in a condescending tone. I had to ask again before I finally got the answer yes, the prices had gone up because it was the first of the month. It wasn’t the answer that bothered me, it was the way I was spoken to. Even after that interaction, I still kept my appointment because I was excited to get my hair colored for the first time. The manager was my stylist and during my appointment, I asked questions about the developer because I wanted to understand what was going to be used on my natural hair and whether there were options that would be less damaging. I asked if a lower developer could be used because I heard that a high level developer can really damage your hair. Instead of simply answering my questions, He asked me if I was a hairstylist and where I was getting my information from and then proceeded to tell me how long he’s been doing hair all under the same exact tone he had when I was talking on the phone with him. I completely respect experience, but asking questions about my own hair is not the same as challenging someone’s expertise. If a doctor prescribes me medication, I’m going to ask what it is, what it does, and whether there are other options. That doesn’t mean I’m questioning the doctor’s education I’m trying to make an informed decision about my own body. I believe the same should apply when someone is putting chemicals on my hair. There was also a misunderstanding about my hair length because I didn’t realize salons measure hair by the longest part of the hair. This is all new to me. When I asked him how much was for the color again he told me that the price he quoted me over the phone was the price for neck length and told me that I was being dishonest because my hair reached my back. I disagreed with him and tried to explain how I had measured it and that I measured it by using the front of my hair but before I could even start he let out a loud sigh, which immediately made me feel uncomfortable. By that point, he had already started preparing for the color and had applied product to my hair. Instead of explaining the situation calmly or discussing the price with me, he told me to come to the shampoo bowl, washed the product out of my hair, and then told me I needed to find someone else to do my hair. I left embarrassed, confused, and disappointed. What made the experience even more upsetting was that when my mom later spoke with him, he said I was “challenging” him about the developer. I completely disagree with that. I wasn’t challenging him I was simply asking questions because it was my first time coloring my hair. As a customer, I have every right to understand what’s being used on my hair before agreeing to the service. If you can’t handle being asked simple questions about hair or catch a attitude when being asked questions then you shouldn’t be a hair stylist. I also noticed the stylist speaking to another customer in a much warmer and friendlier tone than the one he used with me. I can’t say why there was a difference, but I know how I was treated, and it left me feeling unwelcome. I understand that every stylist has the right to refuse service. However, customers also deserve patience, professionalism, and respect. I came in excited for my first color appointment and left feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and unwelcome. Unfortunately, I will not be returning and if I could give 0 stars I would. Very rude and unprofessional!!

Diva's House of Hair is an excellent salon for the entire family. He is a trusted, knowledgeable and superior stylist. My family is extremely diverse and we have multiple types of hair. Cleveland makes sure they receive the best style and treatment for their hair and makes sure you understand how to take care it at home. I have been a client of Cleveland's for over 25 years and still go to him for hair care as does my family members . I would highly recommend him for all of your hair care needs. A great stylist and friend.

As the owner of Diva’s House of Hair, Cleveland always addresses the customers needs and provides a positive and supportive experience. Once you sit in his chair and explain what you want know that you are in good hands. He can produce any style and is an excellent colorist! He is honest and will make sure that you are always satisfied. The saying, “When you look good, you feel good,” definitely applies to the experience you will have! If you have the opportunity to sit in his chair once you WILL be back!

Diva’s House of Hair is a wonderful salon! Cleveland, as the owner/proprietor has been my stylist for years. He knows what is best for your hair, makes positive suggestions that always work well, and that look good on you. The salon has a fun, yet relaxing atmosphere and is easy to access which is great as he’s the stylist for my mother and my granddaughter - crossing 4 generations.
